OBIEE 11g Repository Merge New Development

1. Create a Folder call it Merge.

2. Copy the Current Repository from Production and rename it to Current.

3. Create a Blank repository and call it Base.

   1. Make a copy of the recently developed Repository and call it NewDevelopment. Only have the new development and nothing else in this repository.

1. Open Current.rpd in offline mode.
2. File > Merge then follow the below screenshot:

3. Follow Next Screenshot (Define Merge Strategy):

4. Check Global Consistency “yes”.

5. Close the Consistency Check Warning Screen. Make sure there are no errors in the repository; if any errors fix the repository, warnings are okay to move forward.

6. Let the Merge complete. The merge might take about 15 mins or more.

   1. After a couple of mins, you can close the repository and cancel the Merge. The merge has actually happened. Consider upgrading the client tool to the latest, check Oracle site.

   2. Now in the Merge folder, there should be 4 repositories.

   

7. Rename the repository according to your standards and load it up for testing via the EM.
